Where do all the materials you use come from?
All calf and sheep leather used for the bags are
tanned and dyed in Italy and England. The calves
and sheep are of European origin too.
The zippers are made in Italy by YKK.
The other brass metal parts and buckles are custom-made in Vienna, Austria.
The linings of the bags that are 100% Linen or Cotton and come from Austria an Belgium, traditional spinning and weaving region since centuries. More and more organic, plant-dyed fabrics are used.
Where is the fish leather from?
All skins come from Norwegian and Icelandic fishery. The fish leather is from food production and was treated as waste for a long time and just thrown away, there was no use for it at all. Now the skins are tanned to leather in Iceland.
How does one have to take care of the leathers? Shall I use some care products?
As all leathers are full grain quality you do not need to do anything. It is recommended not to use lotions and greases as it can be too heavy for this type of leather. The vegetable tanned leathers soak up grease with time already, which naturally protects them. If a bag gets wet please refrain from drying it by force on for example a heater, just hang it freely at room temperature.
And what about the fish leathers?
Fish leather get's a strong patina. In case lighter colours have stains from heavy use, the colours of the fish skins can be refreshed with a stiff brush, similar to a nail brush.
